  • Veterinary Assistant for Urgent Care/General Practice.

    VCA Pacific Avenue Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our team! Our busy, AAHA-accredited practice provides preventative and urgent care services to Tacoma and the surrounding communities. Services include same-day sick appointments, dentistry, orthopedic surgery, and Urgent Care. Our team thrives in a fast-paced, compassionate, patient-care focused environment. We are made up of devoted team players who work in a collaborative environment and are invested in the entire team's success.

    As a member of the VCA team, you will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

    • Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.

    • Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.

    • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.

    • Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.

    • Maintaining medical records.

    • Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.

    • Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff

    • Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients

    • Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked

    • Keep accurate records and logs

    • Sterilize equipment

    • Plus so much more!

    Compensation: $18 - 20 / hour. Pay dependent on experience.

    Schedule: Part-time Position. 2-3 days a week. 10 hour shifts. Monday- Saturday.
