    MPA has evolved to offer a variety of mental health support services to a diverse population of “hard to treat” and “difficult to place” adolescents. Our targeted services include home and community-based treatment, residential treatment programs, group homes, and special education schools.     Summary of Job Responsibilities: This position provides oversight and supervision of the medical needs of our students. The Nurse is responsible for overseeing medication administration and ensuring that our students' overall general physical health is met in accordance with state and federal guidelines. General responsibilities are as follows:
    • Maintain clinical licensure and abide by licensing requirements.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
    • Abide by, and assist in continued development of, policies and procedures.
    • Develop a baseline knowledge of health information regarding students.
    • Review intake information for relevant information, assessments and to ensure copy of immunization record and most recent physical (within 30 days) is on file.
    • Assess students with medical ailments providing services and referral as needed.
    • Contact physicians, when applicable, confirming prescriptions and other relevant information.
    • Monitor side effects of medications.
    • Obtain permission from parent/guardian for any medication changes, and document in CaraSolva.
    • Create MAR for each student and oversee medication administration.
    • Provide trainings to faculty regarding medication administration and other health needs.
    • Maintain dialogue with all faculty to ensure that they receive needed student specific health information.
    • Maintain regular communication with the family/guardian regarding student's health needs.
    • Maintain regular communication with student's primary care physicians and medical providers when authorized and when necessary to manage a specialty medical condition.
    • Maintain and order medication supplies.
    • Maintain current documentation for each student of all services provided, medication administered, and outside contacts made in accordance with policy (document all services within 24 hours).
    • Perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Academics.
    Qualifications:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) or APRN
    • Minimum 2 years of experience working with adolescents
    • Satisfactory background check
    • Authorized to work in the United States
