We are seeking a Physician Assistant who will provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.

    • Under the direction of two (2) Ortho/Spine Physicians, you will conduct patient assessments, order, or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support.

    • Provides post-op follow-ups as needed.

    • First assist in the O/R 4 days per week. Will support one physician per day.

    • Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plan

    • Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.

    • Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.

    • Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation.

    • Ensure timely access of patient appointments.

    • This position is 10% Clinic (1 - 1 1/2 days) and 90% Operating Room (OR) - 4 days/week.

    Note: On occasion, there may be in-patient rounding for one (1) of the physicians at our main Medical Center as well as our Marina Del Rey Hospital.

    This is NOT a full-service in-patient services position. It is simply post-op management of patients

    Qualifications

    Educational Requirements:

    • Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies

    License/Certification requirements:

    • National Certification as a Physician Assistant

    • BLS and ACLS Certification required

    • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required

    Experience:

    • Minimum one (1) year Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area preferred, e.g., orthopaedics or sports medicine, general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties.
