Essential Job Functions: + Provides basic patient care to include, but not limited to, care and comfort, record vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility, including unit-based specialty duties. + Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns to nurse + Provides high level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors and all employees + Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation when applicable for patient care + Uses professional, verbal and written communication skills at all times Employment Qualifications - Required Minimum Education: + High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: + Vocational/ Technical Degree Licensure/Certifications Required (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated): + Ohio: Current STNA Licensure at time of hire or two years recent experience in acute or long term care facility or actively enrolled Nursing student with 1 semester of clinical rotation completed. + Kentucky: SRNA certification at time of hire. + BLS Certification - Required at hire or within 6 months of hire through American Heart Association Minimum Qualifications- Minimum Years and Type of Experience: + Preference for recent experience in acute care, long term care facility Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: + Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree. This position requires the incumbent to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills for patients in the following age categories : + Adolescent, 13-17 years + Adult, 18-64 years + Geriatric, 65 years and older Mental Requirements: + Reads and interprets written/oral instructions. + Sets and meets deadlines, prioritizes work and works independently. + Identifies and understands issues and problems. + Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of oral or written communications. + Organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. + Must be flexible and able to adapt to change. Working Conditions: + Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. + May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. + May be required to use physical restraints. + May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. + May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. + Potential exposure to infectious organisms. + May be constantly interrupted; requiring changing from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. + May have periods of constant interruptions.
