Part Time Hospital Laboratory Technician II, Ronald Reagan Hospital - Cardiology

Description

As our Hospital Lab Tech II, you will perform electrocardiograms and stress testing using 12-lead EKG machines, ensuring adherence to protocols and procedures under minimal supervision for the Non-Invasive Cardiodiagnostics department. Additionally, you will train and in-service new technologists, students and staff while maintaining quality control standards. Administrative duties include handling EKG processing in the MUSE application, verifying patient demographics, communicating with cardiology readers and preparing reports on volumes and orders. We expect that you will also provide backup support in stress lab procedures, monitor supply usage, maintain patient care areas and act as a patient advocate ensuring efficient and safe patient care practices. Work locations include Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.

Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22 HourlyQualifications

• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required

• At least 3 years of Cardiology experience - preferred

• Demonstrated knowledge of GE MUSE application - preferred

• Able to correctly place leads for 12 lead EKG

• Understanding of stress testing protocols and reasons for stress testing

• Demonstrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience

• Ability to provide patient care support duties

• Ability to observe and practice good judgement relative to patient safety
