    Most elementary aged students, 1 or 2 sites, and average caseload is 50-55.

    Location: San Jose Unified School District, CA

    Hourly Pay: $30/HR

    Hourly OT Pay: $45/HR

    $1,715/week housing allowance

    $518/week meal allowance

    40 HRS a week (5x8)

    Local pay rate: $70/hr

    Estimated Start Date: 6/3/2024

    Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, theCertified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides occupational therapy servicesincluding treatment, implementation, standardized assessment data, anddocumentation.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides interventions to impact patient's functionalability (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbalcommunication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.) as delegated bythe Occupational Therapist

    • Understands the role of therapy in the context of thepatient's age, total needs perspective and Environment

    • Participates in the ongoing assessment of the patient forequipment needs, and the reduction of barriers or safety risks (if applicable)

    • Teaches new skills or retrains patients in once-familiardaily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness orinjury

    • Consistently reports to the Occupational Therapist regardingpatient progress/status to promote modification of treatment program and anyadverse outcomes

    • Ensures that patient/family understands when and how toreceive further treatment

    • Maintains timely, legible, and efficient patient-caredocumentation

    • Notes remain concise, pertinent and meet clientdocumentation standards

    • Instructs patient and/or family/caregiver in the use ofvarious types of adaptive equipment and/or splints to improve function.

    • Ensures equipment is in good working order

    • Trains patient and/or family/caregiver in use of prostheticand/or orthotic devices

    • May utilize physical agents, including but not limited toheat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage

    • Identifies patient and/or family/caregiver needs for othersupportive services and notifies the Occupational Therapist

    • Reports patient's reactions(s) to treatment or change(s) incondition to the physician and Occupational Therapist

    • Prepares and submits clinical progress-summaries based onthe progress toward goals and responses to treatment

    • Participates in discharge of patient at point of optimalbenefit of treatment, making appropriate provision for continuing services ifneeded

    • Participates in case conferences, meetings and in-serviceeducation

    • Complies with applicable local, state, and federal laws andregulations regarding professional standards and practice standards

    • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Minimum Requirements

    • Current certification or licensure as an OccupationalTherapy Assistant in the state of practice

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational TherapyAssistant required

    • One (1) year of experience as an Occupational TherapyAssistant preferred

    • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

    • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

    • Current CPR if applicable

    • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

    • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

    • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

    • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

    • Computer proficiency required

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
