Family Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Infusion

Location : Saint Louis, MO

Onsite position, Monday - Friday

Work Hours: 8am - 5pm

The Family Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Infusion is responsible providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with a physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment therapies and/or evaluation. Performs care in a specialty area such as cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, etc

How you will make an impact:

• Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.

• Acts independently to perform physical assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.

• Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs. .

• Discusses case with physician.

• Formulates and documents care plan.

• Prescribes medication, therapies an/or other forms of treatment.

• Evaluates the patient's response to therapy.

• Participates in On-Call program, which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

• Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in applicable state required.

• Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences :

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification

• Infusion Experience

• IV insertion Experience

For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver.
