    Shift: PRN (minimum 24 hours per month) shift every other Saturday plus additional varying shifts during the week

    Location: Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital - 5673 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd Ne Atlanta, Ga 30342

    When you choose or Imaging Department, you can count on the latest imaging equipment and techniques. You will be providing care from a team of radiology professionals who participate in groundbreaking research.

    We're seeking a Medical Assistant in the Imaging Department to assist with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) The medical assistant will perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN. Specific duties include:

    • Responsible for performing routine clinical duties to include: taking vital signs, administering a limited profile of medications, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting.

    • Assists in emergency situations as directed by a licensed provider, RN, or LPN. May also be responsible for administrative duties in support of patient and practice operations including patient check in/out, responding to patient requests, reinforcing patient and family education, and visitor/telephone reception.

    • Maintains patients' charts and records data, ensuring proper identification, documentation, routing, and confidentiality.

    • Orders, verifies, and stores unit supplies. Follows Emory Healthcare patient and family centered care standards. May participate in research projects impacting patient care areas. Performs other related responsibilities as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED required. Basic computer skills required.

    • One-year medical assistant experience preferred.

    • Certificate verifying successful completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school.

    • Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Must successfully complete all medical assistant orientation and training requirements including certification and annual skills competency.

    • Current certification as one of the following is required:

    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
