    Minimum Qualifications:

    High school or equivalent. Threeyears experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA or other).?CPR Certificationrequired.

    Job Summary:

    • To provide technical, supportive, age specific and developmentallyappropriate patientcare functions for assigned clinical area.

    • The Medical Assistant II may function as a member of a Patient Centered Medical Home clinical team or may function in a role that includes routine administrative and clinical tasks.?

    • The Medical Assistant II has advanced Medical Assistant skills and is proficient in independentlymaintaininga positive patient experience by consistently exceeding expectations in customer service and patient care.

    Job Duties :

    • Able to effectivelyidentifyproblemsanddeterminesolutions.

    • Understand clinic flow to maximize clinic usage to meet patient needs.

    • Assistswith patient flow within assigned outpatient clinic setting.

    • Respondsin a timely mannerto call-lights.

    • Provides comfort measures topatient/family.

    • Performs technical and supportive patient care skills, incorporating the patient's plan of care and following approved policy and procedure.

    • Obtains vitalsigns.

    • Appropriatelydocuments chief complaint and reason for visit.

    • Uses aseptic techniques and infection control measures in the performance of duties.

    • Accurately collects excretory specimens, such as urine andfeces.

    • Obtains blood samples by venipuncture.

    • Accurately performs tests,such as basic urine chemistry using chemicalstrips, guaiac, Ph, blood glucose, UPT, andhemoccult.

    • Measures and records intake and output asordered.

    • Prepares andassistspatients undergoing treatments, examinations, and procedures.

    • Recognizes patient care priorities, treatment plan,objectives, and potential crisis.

    • Under direction ofphysician, providesother treatments and care to patients appropriate to training, as assigned.

    • Recognizes and communicates patient needs and unusual occurrences with patients / families.

    • The Medical Assistantwillrefillpatient medications asrequested.

    • Safely and properly administers medications asassigned,otherduties.
