Job Title: CAT Scan Technologist

Direct-Placement opportunity to work for one of New York's most reputable Healthcare Networks.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 3pm-11pm (Rotating weekends)

Description

The CAT Scan Technologist will accurately interpret the physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials and prepare and operate the CT scan equipment.

Must Haves

• ARRT certification

• NYS license (Radiologic Technologist license)

• 1 or more years experience as a cat scan technologist

• Strong communication skills

Job Duties

• Provides immobilization devices as required.

• Provides radiation protection

• Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.

• Consults with physician and/or reads physician's orders to determine proper testing procedures

• Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material.

• Transfers images to PACS system with the necessary scanned documents.

• Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control Policies.

• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards and built in low dose features.

• Examines the study/images for adequacy and makes necessary adjustments.

• Registers patients and answers phones as required.

• Maintains adequate records as directed including daily QC. Requisitions are properly completed. Registers patients and answers phones as required.

• Takes inventory, request and secures all supplies and materials necessary for the CT Scanner and IR rooms.

Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Radiology Technologists with a valid ARRT (R) (CT) certification and a current NY state license.

3. Must possess oral and written skills for communicating with patients, physicians, and other staff.

4. Must possess some degree of independent judgment and discretion in performing procedures.
