Job Summary and Qualifications

The Echo/Vascular Technologist will provide optimum patient care while performing all aspects of various echo/vascular testing including, but not limited to, 2-D echocardiograms, Doppler echos, carotid and venous duplex imaging exams and other vascular procedures to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities, perform arterial and venous scans for evaluation of disease and blood flow and providing optimum patient care while performing diagnostic exams. The echo/vascular technologist works independently, utilizing a variety of sophisticated instruments and demonstrates good judgment and decision making in the treatment and handling of the individual patient. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements of processes and services on an on-going basis. ** The position involves flexible hours and call. Is responsible for knowledge all equipment, responsible for orientation of new hires and monitoring imaging dictation and reports. Responsible for maintaining all PMs of all CV/Echo equipment and the records/documentation of such. Works closely with the director to ensure equipment is operational. as needed and will. Must exercises professional judgment in

the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to echo/vascular procedures for all patients from infancy to the geriatric patient, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the Medical Staff. Performs echo/vascular services "on call" as needed. Responsible for knowledge of human anatomy, ScImage / Meditech / Nighthawk (VR). Must interpret a physician's instructions, explain procedures to patients, and select software options and imaging parameters and keep records of the results. Responsible for ICAEL/ICAVL requirements (if accredited).

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates Degree in Imaging Science or completion of an approved ultrasound training program is required

• Preferred RDCS

• RCS Required

• RVT or RVS certification

• Must hold current BLS or obtain within one week of hire through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
