    Shift : 8 hour shift 5 days a week - Various days

    The role you'll contribute:

    The Activity Therapist is responsible for the provision of activity services for patients within the Center for Behavioral

    Health. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that

    are equally respectful to all.

    -Responsible for achieving and maintaining year round Patient Experience scores in the 75th percentile or the targeted metric determined by AdventHealth

    -Completes an initial Adjunctive Therapy assessment of patients within 72 hours of admission to Center for Behavioral Health

    -Documents Activity Therapy Interventions, observations, assessments and clinical data regarding patients in accordance with documentation protocol

    -Plans and implements age appropriate therapeutic activities on a group and individual basis that assist patients in achieving specific goals and objectives daily while on an inpatient unit.

    -Attends and interacts with interdisciplinary treatment team in developing, updating and re-evaluating patients' therapeutic treatment plan

    -Plans, prepares and maintains supplies for therapeutic activities -Interfaces with unit staff in developing and providing therapeutic programming on all inpatient units daily -Participates in staff development and continuing education to enhance job performance and maintain licensure or certification status

    -Acts as a team member to meet the overall needs of the department

    -Performs additional duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED

    -Effective verbal and written communication skills

    -Comprehensive knowledge of Recreational/Occupational Therapy and appropriate implementation as defined by NCTRC/AOTA

    -Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric theory and various treatment approaches

    -Ability to organize and prioritize job duties in an efficient and timely manner

    -Scheduling flexibility, working evenings and weekends

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

    -One year experience working with psychiatric, physical rehabilitation or medical patients.

    -Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy or related field

    PREFERRED

    -Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

    -Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR)
