The VSS is responsible for managing the performance of his/her individual territory through the effective communication of Menveo and NVD product offerings. Key customer contacts will be office based pediatricians and their staff, selected family practitioners and other targets as defined by the District Manager The VSS will be responsible for liaison with his/her RMAM counterpart, to pull through business opportunities created at the VFC and Regional Public Health level The VSS will support Novartis Vaccines' segment leaders, including: retail, GPO seg-ments, distributor, PBGs, employers, "wellness providers" and the government as deemed locally appropriate by the District Manager Ensure the fulfillment of territory objectives such as: revenue targets, doses sales quota, value proposition and expanding the Novartis Vaccines customer base Create collaborative customer relationships, reinforce corporate positioning and man-aging operational expenses. Develop an individual business plan that is aligned with divisional marketing and seg-ment sales direction, but individualized to the specific territory Local business plans should specify the strategy, tactics, and resource allocations necessary to grow and maximize the sales of NVD (particularly Menveo) products within that territory and to expand the customers' business. Personally interact with the local public health environment, particularly as it relates to the VFC programs, where such practice is allowable Maximize the portfolio of products as deemed appropriate by NVD Sales Leadership MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES Pediatric and Family Practitioner Office Account Management Develop, refine, execute, and measure a territory business plan that is consistent with district objectives, channel strategy and NVD goals. Develop and maintain a comprehensive account profile for each target customer in the Novartis SFA system Become part of customer value proposition through collaborative internal relationships across functions and levels. Demonstrate Novartis Vaccines' values and behaviors. Represent Novartis Vaccines and its products to the entire customer base and prospects including: immunizations clinics, pediatric offices, family practitioner offices, local public health agencies, pharmacy chains, all appropriate professional societies and employers within territory. Generate ideas, suggestions, and recommendations to help Novartis Vaccines Sales and Marketing Leadership improve its efficiencies, productivity, impact, and decision-making. Maintain a current sales pipeline report for all account and prospect activity in his/her territory. Align NVD value proposition to the unique needs and expectations of customers to help meet or exceed their expectations. Generate profitable sales for Novartis Vaccines. Manage Local Business Development Opportunities Capitalize on knowledge of local market conditions and demands and translate them into development initiatives and priorities to ensure continuous product understanding and improvement. Be a consultative, value-adding resource to Novartis Vaccines' customers on issues per-taining to products, pertinent disease states, and other customized business needs/opportunities that a Novartis Vaccines customer may have Enhance NVD Image in a compliant and consistent manner Continually review legislations, clinical studies and vaccine guides to position oneself as the industry and immunization expert. In accordance with company policy, report any and all medical or product complaints, or adverse events to Novartis Vaccines. Present all products in such a way as to provide fair balance and in keeping with the guidelines established by the company and the F.D.A. Perform administrative responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain all company property in excellent condition; e.g., company car, computer, training material, and computer disks. Perform other professional duties as may be required or identified as contributors to our business success. Pull through VFC contracts Build upon VFC contract opportunities on a local basis, to ensure optimal pull through of VFC doses Develop strong professional relationships with decision makers in local Public Health or- ganizations and liaise with RVBL on customer allocation Analyze local sales data and creation tactical plans Work with local influencers to guarantee access to our Vaccines portfolio. Ensure internal and external links Facilitate the development of business networks that are consistent with Novartis Vac-cines' business objectives. Utilize internal and external communication systems to efficiently and effectively respond to requests and inquiries from internal and external customers. Develop excellent matrix management relationships with NVD functional areas to maxi-mize synergies. Provide Sales and Marketing Leadership with insight and feedback gained through cus-tomer interaction. Utilize shared services where appropriate and give feedback to insure high quality provi-sion of services. Create and maintain a favorable image for Novartis Vaccines with our customers and in the marketplace as a whole. Analysis how competitor actions impact NVD strategies: Systematic leverage of competi-tive intelligence insights to influence company business strategy formulation process and resources allocation. Contribute to marketing and product strategies when invited to do so by marketing colleagues. Minimum requirements Requirements Bachelor's degree with at least 2-3 years selling experience preferred. Vaccines experience highly desirable.
Transactional sales experience an acceptable alternative (diagnostics, device, bio-logics, etc) Must have experience working with offices in a Key Account manner Mechanisms highly desirable Understanding of how to execute market strategy, and deploy the appropriate tactical mix. Product launch experience, preferred.
