Ultrasound Technologist Department: NBH Ultrasound (7790) Schedule: Pool Shift: Variable Hours: Variable Job Details: EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of diagnostic sonography required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Must posses a current registry or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography. BLS required. (New graduates must be registered within 24 months of graduation. If an ultrasound tech holds an ARRT in radiology, must have or be willing to obtain the TDH license within 90 days of employment). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have eye/hand/foot coordination, finger/fine dexterity and be able to handle/grip/squeeze and perform repetitive activity. Must be capable of transferring-vertical/horizontal, lifting/carrying greater than 35 poundswith assistance and be able to push/pull, balance, stoop/bend, kneel, walk, sit, crouch/squat, flex/position/twist, stand, hold, and reach. SUMMARY: Performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography.
