• Transplant Coordinators are needed for Transplant jobs at a major south Arizona medical center with large solid organ transplant program.
• Provide education, care, and management of transplant patients.
• This includes the phases of evaluation, pre-operative waiting, donor coordination, inpatient stay and outpatient follow-up care.
• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinates the referral and evaluation of potential transplant recipients. Ensures that protocols are followed and all necessary tests are completed prior to listing patient for transplantation.
• Coordinates activities at the time of organ transplantation. This is to include activities related to donor procurement and recipient transplantation.
• Provides ongoing coordination of care for inpatients and outpatients based on accepted medical practices, UMC policies and procedures, physician collaboration and age of the patient. Complies with Infection Control policy and procedures.
• Performs administrative and education activities for transplant patients and hospital staff.
• Develops personal goals and objectives in collaboration with the Director of Transplantation and the Medical Director and assists in the development and implementation of department goals.
• WORKING CONDITIONS:  Comfortable, air conditioned work area. Will be on call and required to work any shift.
• Prior experience in Transplant jobs , Transplant Coordinator jobs and/or as a Procurement Transplant Coordinator is a plus.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, current Arizona nursing license or at least six years of experience as a transplant coordinator.
• Successfully complete NATCO certification within one year in the position.
• Coordinator II must have nursing license and two years experience as a transplant coordinator.
• Must be NATCO certified.
• Prior experience in Transplant Coordinator job, Organ Transplant Coordinator, Transplant Nurse Coordinator and/or Organ Transplant Coordinator jobs is a plus.
