Technician-Monitor Department: Telemetry Schedule: Full Time Shift: Night Hours: 7p-7a Job Details: * High School/GED * The Monitor Tech assists the Registered Nurse by performing routine assigned duties and specific advanced procedures in the ECG monitoring and record-keeping of critical care and telemetry patients. The Monitor Tech complies with standards of practice; coordinates patient care activities; manages supplies and equipment and collaborates with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs. This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
Required:High school graduate or certified equivalent. Successful completion of a Basic ECG Interpretation Course. Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English. Normal to near-normal vision, hearing, and motor coordination and manual dexterity. Preferred: Successful completion of nursing assistant training and/or nursing fundamental skills course in RN or LPN school. Successful completion of BLS and maintenance of active certification.
