TAS Tax Manager
As a Tax Manager in our Tax Accounting Services (TAS) practice, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects and technology and provision consultation in the delivery of provision process and technology projects to TAS clients. Primary responsibilities include implementation of technology tools and consultation regarding tax technical matters and project management of global provision projects involving multiple team members at the Client and within Deloitte and its member firms.
Tax Managers supervise assignments by the professional accountants serving as Tax Consultants and Tax Senior Consultants. Tax Managers have responsibility for the development and motivation of engagement staff including leadership, counseling and career guidance. Tax Managers will have extensive technical skills and developed a reputation in a given industry/service offering. They must demonstrate sound judgment and instincts with respect to evaluating complex scenarios, while supervising and developing our people.
TAS Tax Manager Qualifications: - 5 or more years of corporate tax or tax technology experience - Big 4 or tax software firm experience or equivalent - CPA, Enrolled Agent or other professional certification - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area - Double major, concentration or advanced degree in information management or information systems a plus - Advanced Degree preferred: MST, MAC or LLM - Experience in ASC 740 (FAS 109), Accounting for Income Taxes and/or - Experience with tax provision and compliance software such as CorpTax, TaxStream, Longview Tax, Vertex, PowerTax - Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence - Ability to participate in all aspects of engagement strategic planning initiatives - Strong research, as well as written and verbal communication skills - Flexibility for extensive travel
