Description The Laboratory Supervisor has responsibility for the daily operations of the Main Laboratory, Outpatient laboratory services and anatomic pathology services. In addition, he/she will coordinate and report on quality assurance activities for the department, directing and/or performing activities that ensure that the Lab complies with regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, CLIA, CAP). In addition, the responsibilities consist of addressing any troublesome situation that may arise; dealing with physicians, communicating with Nursing personnel. The incumbent will ensure appropriate resources for the area, both material and human resources. As a working supervisor, the incumbent will also perform laboratory analyses on an as-needed basis. This individual will assume the leadership role in the absence of the manager. Minimum Job Qualifications: Minimum Education: Four Year Degree Minimum years in field previous to employment: 5 Minimum Job Qualifications:The person in this position should hold at minimum, a Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology and Medical Technologist (American Society of Clinical Pathologists), or equivalent. It is important that the candidate have experience in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Anatomic Pathology, as well as phlebotomy skills. Must have excellent communication skills. Licensure, Certification and/or Registration:MT ASCP or equivalent
