Job Summary Responsible for the supervision of laboratory staff who work the evening and night shifts and for the operation of the laboratory during these hours. Participates as a member of the Laboratory Leadership Team and represents the laboratory staff on the evening and night shifts. Functions as the Laboratory Safety Officer. Performs the essential job functions of a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) as described in the applicable job description. Qualifications and Requirements Education Background Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology (Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) from a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) approved Medical Technology program, or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment '88 (CLIA '88) equivalent program required. Work Experience Minimum of 5 years experience in a clinical laboratory required, supervisory or lead experience preferred. Laboratory Information System experience preferred. License or Certification Certified as a Medical Technologist (Medical Laboratory Scientist), MT or MLS, by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or by an equivalent CLIA-approved certification process that is consistent with the Washington State Department of Health technical personnel requirements for a CLIA-MT.
