Description:

The Government Affairs (GA) Representative will report to the Rockies Region Manager/ Business Partner within Government Affairs, and will establish and maintain relationships with elected and appointed state,county/ local officials and assigned federal agencies in the locations impacted by both E&P operations and Midstream operations in NM. Key responsibilities include: Primary liaison for assigned state and local elected officials and regulatory delegation Primary liaison for assigned states' contract port the receipt, review, advising and counseling with BU on state, local elected issues and regulatory developments impacting industry and Williams Support the development of the business unit's state, local elected and regulatory strategy Represent Williams by involvement with trade associations which develop industry segment positions Understand Williams' businesses and assets Facilitate communication process with Business Units , functional groups and within GAAssist Williams with managing risk by identifying and proactively addressing state, regional or organizational issues Engage with other GA and Business reps to understand their issues and goals so that issues are properly identified, allies and opponents identified, and potential outcomes assessed and shared Provide government affairs support and assist in execution of business project plans with both internal and external stakeholders Support legislative tracking communication process The preferred work location of this position is in Farmington New Mexico or nearby locale.

Requirements:

Successful candidate should have a bachelor¿s degree in political science, communications or related field, 7-10 years previous governmental and political experience, and have a proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, MS Word, Excel). Candidate must also demonstrate that they are a motivated self starter. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in New Mexico and are knowledgeable about the state legislature/executive agencies, chambers of commerce, newspapers, school districts, political campaigns, regulatory agencies/leaders at all levels of government and other highly visible public positions. Candidate must be able to show ¿in depth¿ knowledge of New Mexico and the San Juan Basin's public opinion issues with an eye towards influencing and affecting federal, state, local and county ordinance making . A successful candidate will present a strategy to highlight the positive impacts of drilling techniques in the San Juan Basin, the safety of the methods used, oil and gas pipeline infrastructure, compression and processing facilities and the viability of the region as an economic and energy development successful candidate will be able to effectively write, speak and present to both external audiences and internal successful candidate must be flexible and able to deal with a number of issues in a timely, efficient and professional manner within an environment of rapidly changing situations and er critical competencies required for this position include but are not limited to: Political and Interpersonal SavvyStrong Oral & Written Communication SkillsBusiness AcumenStrong Oral & Written Communication Skills Perseverance, Collaborating, Information Sharing, Informing and Networking Influencing and Negotiation Comfort in Dealing with Ambiguity Organizational Agility Teamwork and Collaboration This position will be filled at the posted level and within the salary range if commensurate to the experience (i.e., skills, knowledge, & abilities) of successful candidate; however if unable to be filled at this level, the position may be filled with a respective competitive market based on the experience of the selected candidate
