Description

Terumo is looking for a highly motivated and experienced HR professional that delivers results accurately with a high sense of urgency. Requires independent judgment, within management and corporate policy guidelines to assess, solve, improve or recommend changes to problems affecting Employee Relations and Human Resource issues. The incumbent needs to possess sufficient organizational and analytical skills. Ability to manage up and down the organization in order to ensure consistency and compliance with HR policies, procedures and guidelines.

The HR Specialist manages the daily operations within TMC & TAH. Effectively carries out Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Placement, Associate Relations, Performance Management, Compensation, and Training and Leadership development functions. Provides project/program management assistance and completion to Corporate Human Resources.


Position Requirements

Ø Work with the leadership team member to develop organization plan that focuses on strategy, structure, skills, systems and culture

Ø Ensure organization charts and job descriptions are accurate and future positions are budgeted and funded

Ø Execute recruiting process for external candidates and internal placement process for internal candidates

Ø Ensure proper on-boarding, orientation, and initial training

Ø Receive associate complaints, investigate, review findings with HR and line management, and resolve issues

Ø Work with Managers on policy and performance issues to resolution. Administer and update as appropriate, policies that effect associates

Ø Participate/lead local safety and activity committees

Ø Conduct mid-year and year-end performance calibration sessions

Ø Design and deploy enhancements to the performance management process

Ø Support the leadership team member with design and administration of non-cash and local cash recognition programs

Ø Administer merit, bonus, and other compensation/payroll/commission programs

Ø Perform market pricing for individual positions following compensation guidelines

Ø Support associates with benefits enrollment and with personal vendor service issues

Ø Administer leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes

Ø Maintain HR files

Ø Support vendor credentialing process


Educational Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline coupled with 6-8 years progressive Human Resource Generalist/Manager experience. Masters degree in Human Resources a plus coupled with PHR or SPHR certification. Must have HR experience in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, leadership and employment development, and Compensation. Requires a strong knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and statutes. Strong project management and analytical skills. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
