SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Summary:
The Speech Pathologist functions as a member of the healthcare team.The purpose is to provide medically prescribed speech therapy programs in the hospital in accordance with national standards and administrative policies of the hospital.The goal is to enable patients with speech and language disorders, whether it is receptive or expressive, to communicate as effectively and clearly as possible, and to assist the physician with determining appropriate dietary feeding levels for patients with dysphagia and progress the level through the use of therapeutic techniques as appropriate.
Credential Requirements:
Must be currently licensed by the state as a Speech Language Pathologist
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider required.
Education Requirements:
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology required. We are not accepting CFY candidates.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years previous experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
