Here is a dream position for a person who has proven success as a Senior Developer and wants a big responsibility with a solid international medical/pharmaceutical publisher. Therapeutic Research Center is a very stable company with a 25-year track record of success and growth. The staff produces exceptionally high-quality products that are in high demand by physicians, pharmacists, hospitals, medical schools, pharmacies and consumers. The Center is fully accredited by the American Council on Continuing Medical Education, American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education and others to provide continuing medical education credits. Therapeutic Research is located in the upscale Brookside Business Park in Stockton CA, one half hour South of Sacramento.
The new Senior Developer will work full-time in our Stockton, CA office (we are not looking for telecommuters right now). The Senior Developer will develop web applications and assist in the design and architecture of those applications.
Requirements:
Roles and Responsibilities: - Turn general customer specifications into a technical design, involving database structures, OOP class definitions, and general implementation documentation. - Work with the Development Manager to refine technical designs. - Develop applications using approved language, development tools, and database system. (Typically, using Visual Studio 2008, and SQL Server 2008.) - Document testing procedures for projects. - Provide support to the Development Manager and customers during project testing and rollout. - Provide technical leadership and assistance to junior developers on staff. - Assist in improving development workflow and quality assurance with regards to source control, testing deployment, build procedures, etc.
Education and Experience Required: - Minimum 3 years experience developing applications. - Minimum 5 years experience with SQL Server development. - 7-10 years experience in applications development and design. - Strong OOP skills. - Experience supervising other developers a plus. - Working knowledge of development processes within an IT setting such as change management, testing, deployment, etc. - Creativity. Ability to think around problems and come up with creative solutions. - Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision. - Strong drive to create elegant, efficient designs with a focus on long-term maintainability as opposed to ad-hoc break/fix programming.
