Job Title Scientist II (Syntonix) Location US-MA-Waltham Job Category Research & Preclinical Development Requisition Number 12602BR Job Description The Biogen Idec Hemophilia group (Syntonix) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, experienced scientist to work within new and ongoing projects in the field of hemostasis, largely in a laboratory setting. The candidate will be involved in purification of multiple engineered versions of clotting factors and also reagent proteins to support research program. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for developing and scaling-up protein chromatographic purification processes. The successful candidate will execute laboratory scale experiments and will also support technology transfer of chromatographic purification processes to pilot production. Qualifications Candidates must have proven hands on experience in chromatographic purification development and scale up. Candidate must have demonstrated proficiency with chromatography systems such as AKTA/FPLC systems for method development. . The candidate must have hands on experience with analytical characterization of proteins using SDS PAGE, and ELISA. Familiarity in using HPLC is required. . Prior experience in design of experiments (DOE) and analyzing data using statistical analysis is a plus. Education Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Protein Chemistry or related discipline with 3-5 years relevant postgraduate experience, in industry or academia is required.
