At Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, we understand urgency. But more than speed, we focus our energies on accuracy. Currently, we seek a Clinical Lab Scientist II. Responsibilities Essential Job Responsibilities: 1. Performs testing in those technical areas for which they are appropriately licensed and trained, especially the most complex and newly introduced tests. 2. Demonstrates the ability to detect and correct technical and operational problems. Notifies supervisor, and when necessary contacts manufacturer or field service support for additional assistance. 3. Performs method and instrument validation as assigned. 4. Determines the acceptability of testing prior to releasing results, according to established criteria, takes appropriate action in response to critical values or unusual or unexpected results and documents actions. 5. Able to determine when results need to be repeated. 6. Accurately enters and releases results. 7. Assists the supervisor in scheduling and day to day operation. Reports shift problems to lead tech, senior tech, or department supervisor. 8. Trains staff in proper performance of both routine and complex procedures. 9. Exhibits ability to meet high performance standards and productivity requirements and takes on additional business related responsibilities or projects as delegated by the supervisor. 10. Assists with departmental record keeping and documentation requirements. 11. Consistently sets an example for other employees by maintaining a safe and neat work area and following company and departmental policies and exhibits leadership qualitites.
Marginal 1. Maintains instrumentation. 2. Checks and orders reagents and supplies. 3. Logs and stores reagents.
Qualifications: 1. B.S. Degree or equivalent education to qualify as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist according to CLIA and state/federal standards. 2. Advanced technical knowledge of methods, procedures and instrumentation for assigned laboratory area(s) to perform Clinical Trials Specific Testing. 3. A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in particular department assigned. 4. Ability to solve routine and complex problems.
