RN - Quality & Outcomes Specialist Posted: Dec-27-2011 Job Code: 1230 Department: Quality & Outcomes Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day shift Hours: Job Details: SUMMARY: Under the general direction of department management, provides leadership and operational support for the strategic direction and operations of the hospital wide, multidisciplinary Quality and Outcomes Management program. Develops and recommends strategies and processes that result in measureable improvement in the delivery and outcomes of patient care. Works collaboratively with the medical staff, departments and leadership, medical directors, hospitalists, integrated care management, nursing and other members of the medical center management team in researching, designing and implementing "best practices" guidelines and protocols to support high quality services and continuous improvement in patient care outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The specifications listed below are representative of the education and experience as well as knowledge, skill and ability required.
* Bachelor degree in nursing preferred * Current Nevada Registered Nursing License required * Minimum of five (5) years acute care hospital experience. Experience in quality or related field preferred. * CPHQ certification required at or within 2 years of date of hire. * Working knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, State and other compliance standards required * Strong data analytic skills using a variety of business intelligence tools. Ability to learn and adapt to new programs and administer databases. Expertise in graphic and statistical software. * Ability to demonstrate initiative, sound and independent judgment, self-motivation and innovation to meet organizational quality goals. * Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills essential. * Ability to effectively utilize global system perceptions, and continuous quality improvement tools and methodologies
