Minimum Skills/Requirements Two to three years college level courses/Associate's Degree/Diploma in nursing. NM Registered Nursing License required. Less than one year experience in nursing . Primary Job Functions . Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, QA program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. . Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservices and workshops. . Completes and /or reviews patient's history including needs related to the following factors, based on the age of patient being served: biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education, discharge planning, and comfort level. . Implements/documents patient/family teaching based on the theory and practice of nursing, according to the age and understanding of the patient/family. . Accountable for the safe administration of medications and solutions according to the age of the patient being served. . Coordinates patient's care to assure procedures, treatments, referrals completed in a timely manner. . Recognizes patient problems/complications, emergencies, and intervenes appropriately. Provides documentation that reflects the response to interventions, reassessments, revisions and resolutions or changes in plan as indicated. . Ensures patient rights are observed and supported according to the patient's wishes. Handles all patient /hospital communication and documentation in a confidential manner. . Demonstrates professional, constructive, positive communications in all interactions. Demonstrates positive attitude and behavior towards peers, physicians, and hospital. . Performs other functions as required.
