RN-Labor & Delivery Department: Labor & Delivery Schedule: Full Time Shift: Nights Hours: varies Job Details: * Assesses/reassesses patient's condition based upon observation of patient and interview of patient and/or family, physician's diagnosis and data, diagnostic results, and relevant data from other healthcare providers. Documents all aspects of patient care and maintains patient records, in a timely manner. Provides patients and family members with relevant health care education and instructions regarding treatments and procedures including pre/post hospital care as appropriate. Current knowledge of the nursing role and scope of practice as defined by the State of Louisiana Nurse Practice Act and the Louisiana Board of Nursing. Current knowledge of American Nurses Association(ANA)Code of Ethics. Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana. Current American Heart Association(AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR(BLS) certification required. ACLS and NRP must be acquired within 1st year of employment.
