Department: Intensive Care Unit
Schedule: Part Time 60%
Shift: Rotating/Variable
Hours: 12 hour shifts
Job Details:
Education: Graduate of a two, three or four year Registered Nurse Program.
Experience: Experience in ICU preferred. Other experience and education may be considered.
Qualifications:
1. Licensed RN, licensed to practice in Delaware.
2. Evidence of: a) Effective communications, b) Self motivation,
c) Problem solving skills, d) Accountability, e) Flexibility
3. Telemetry course preferred.
4. NIH Stroke Certification preferred within three months, required within six months.
5. ACLS certified
6. TNCC preferred.
Population Specific Requirements:
a. Pediatrics - requiring telemetry with support from Pediatric staff.
b. Adolescents - requiring telemetry with support from Pediatric staff.
c. Adult
d. Geriatrics

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse works as a team member under the general direction of the Charge Nurse and Director, performing a variety of nursing procedures with a patient focused approach. While functioning within the guidelines of the Delaware State Nurse Practice Act, the nurse will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field, performing at a level of competence that allows independent thought and action. Applies critical thinking to patient care management, assuring appropriate care based on patient needs, using age specific assessment, communications, and knowledge of physical and mental capabilities.
