The Registered Nurse (RN) performs and documents pain assessments; ensures health history is completed; individuals patient Plan of Care on admission; reviews Plan of Care with patient and Patient's family; administers medications utilizing the 5 Rights; identifies significant changes in patient's condition; effectively communicates patient progress; is able to adjust own workload to meet fluctuation in patient census; provides education, evaluates and documents patient/patient's family response to treatment, education and progress; when Charge, assesses and communicates unit staffing needs; participates in house-wide code and Rapid Response teams; assists with transcribing and documenting physician directions, and assists with procedures when necessary. Patients cared for include adolescent, adult and geriatric.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Required: . Registered Nurse. . Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (if a resident ofNorth Dakotaor changing residence for longer than 30 days) or licensed by a member of the "Compact State Agreement" if not a North Dakota resident. (If changing residence from aCompactStatetoNorth Dakota, will need to obtain aNorth Dakotalicense within 30 working days of obtaining new residency.) . Nurses who provide nursing care to patients calling from Minnesota will need to be licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing or will obtain their Minnesota license withineight (8) weeksfrom their first day of work (telephone calls from patients calling from Minnesota can not be taken from any nurse unless they have obtained their Minnesota license). . Successful completion of functional assessment.
