Summary of Duties Ensures the delivery of quality nursing care for critically ill patients in accordance with age-related and individual needs, physician’s orders, hospital policy, standards of care and nursing ponsible for assessing the needs of patients, planning nursing care to meet those needs, and ensuring that the plan of care is carried out and documented according to the principles defined in the nursing ticipates in the development of critical care unit goals. HIRING COMPETENCIES- skills & experiences the applicant should bring to the job. a) License: Current licensure as registered nurse by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. b) Certification: Healthcare Provider BLS required upon hire if not ACLS certified. ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire. c) One year Critical Care experience or completion of Critical Care Course. 12 lead EKG interpretation required. d) Demonstrates skill in the nursing care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. e) Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, Critical Care drips, EKG interpretation, vent management, and IV start skills. Intra-aortic balloon pump preferred. f) Cross training and working shifts in PCU is a requirement of this position. g) Demonstrates a knowledge of critical assessment skills. h) Utilizes a problem solving process to make decisions related to patient care and unit activity. i) Uses effective written and verbal communication skills. j) Practices effective interpersonal skills. k) Functions well as part of a team.

2. Physically Demanding Tasks: Moves beds, stretchers and equipment up to 500 pounds five to ten times per shift. Assists in the movement of patients and/or equipment whose weight may range from 30 to 500 pounds, pushes or pulls weights, walks and/or stands for 5-8 hours/shift, lifts 35-40 pounds.
