Summary
The RN-Emergency Services will provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency services area in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities
- Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with other disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Two years of experience as a staff registered nurse required.
- Paramedics with previous emergency department experience who have completed a registered nursing program may be considered in lieu of two year experience requirement.
- Two years of experience as a staff registered nurse is required for PRN and the WOW (Work on Weekend) Program.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification required.
- Current ER Nursing Pediatric Course certification preferred.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification is preferred.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida required.
