RN - CCU Department: Critical Care-W Schedule: Part time with Full time benefits Shift: Evening/Night rotation Hours: 36 hrs/wk; 7p-7a; every other weekend & holiday Job Details: * ACLS certification preferred * Current State of Maine RN license * IV Therapy competencies required * PALS Certification preferred * Minimum 1 year experience required * The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit is responsible for delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician and ancillary personnel as appropriate, the RN assesses plans, intervenes and evaluates patient care. The RN also directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining the standards of professional professional nursing staff cares for critically ill or unstable patients who require advanced physical assessment, continuous cardiac monitoring, measures to improve and maintain respiratory function and invasive therapies to maintain hemodynamic stability. The patient population will include patients with varying levels of independence in activities of daily living who may require significant hands-on direct care support. Medical diagnoses common to the CCU include: acute MI, CHF, dysrhythmias, respiratory failure, septic shock, unstable post-op patients and patients experiencing poisoning/toxic drug effects.
Qualifications: * Must have either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or an RN license recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact ( If RN licensure is from a compact state, must obtain a state of Maine RN license within 90 days of changing primary residency toMaine * BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire * ACLS certification is required within 6 months of hire * MOABis required within 1 year of hire * Associate's degree in Nursing is preferred * Minimum of 1 year of current acute care RN experience isrequired;Critical Care RN experience strongly preferred * Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications
