RN Coronary Care Unit
Full time days, 8 or 12 hour shifts.
The Coronary Care Unit is a 36 bed unit providing both critical care and telemetry services for cardiac patients. Services provided include inpatient comprehensive care to a population consisting primarily of CHF, MI, unstable angina, syncope, cardiac dysrhythmias, drug toxicity, pulmonary edema, and patients undergoing cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterization, PCI, EPS, ablation, elective cardioversion, pacemaker and AICD insertion. In addition, the critical care beds beds serve patients who are hemodynamically unstable, those requiring short-term hemodialysis or plasmapheresis and multiple drug therapies. Utilizing the patient focused care model, most patients remain on the unit from admission to discharge.

Nurses working in cardiac critical care have the support of regional critical care courses, on-site BLS and ACLS classes, and comprehensive orientation developed by clinical nurse specialists in cardiac critical care nursing.
