Assists the Director of Therapy Services in overseeing the overall operation of respiratory area maximizing the resources of the department. Performs all services as they may relate to patient/treatment with consideration for the age/condition of the patient. Makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital. Performs additional tasks/activities as assigned. Demonstrates the appropriate attitude in the completion of his/her responsibilities. Assess, plan, evaluate, coordinate and provide quality care to the patients of the Cardio pulmonary department. Performs all procedures as ordered by the physician. Communicates with the physician as needed. Maintains patient records and log books, correlates charges with procedures. Assists the director in keeping inventory needs at appropriate levels. Assists the department director in maintaining appropriate PI programs while providing continuous assessment of and improvement to the quality of care and services. Assists in the orientation of new employees and helps with in-services for the staff. Assures that all employee evaluations are done on a timely basis. Represents the department at interdepartmental meetings when requested. Qualifications RRT required Certified or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care and licensed to practice in the state of Texas as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Current healthcare provider CPR Certification and NRP are required. Minimum five years experience in Respiratory - one to two years supervisory experience preferred. NICU experience is required. Knowledge in EKG is preferred. |
