Description:
Position Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
  • Promotes customer service initiatives along with Skyline Medical Center Service Values.
  • Documents all patient care.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
  • Promotes compliance with Nursing Patient Safety Goals.
  • Assumes responsibility for clinical and management of unit (24hrs/day)
  • Assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction
  • Responsible for quality of care delivered within department
  • Provides leadership, coaching and counseling to department employees
  • Collaborates with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care deliver
  • Identifies and refers issues to administrative line officer as appropriate
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures
  • Functions as clinical resource for staff
  • Functions as liaison to patients, families, staff and physicians
  • Assists with development/revision of respiratory policies and procedures
  • Completes departmental competencies
  • Responsible for departmental schedule
  • Coordinates internal/external staff education
  • Completes evaluation and monitors certifications
  • Organizes employee orientation
Department Specific Criteria:
  • Performs duties in accordance with unit specific standards of care as evidenced by completion of a competency skills check list
  • Ensures quality of patient care and assists in patient care as necessary
  • Responsible for workflow of unit by ensuring proper staff levels
  • Continually assesses and assigns patient care
  • Performs annual reviews for all staff members
  • Ensures that all staff attends mandatory in-service
  • Creates staffing schedules and ensure that staff members adhere to schedule
  • Communicates effectively to staff changes in policies/procedures and any other information received
  • Handles patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and in a professional manner
  • Handles all staffing needs and personnel management including interviewing, hiring and training new staff members
  • Represents unit on various hospital committees
  • Coordinates QA summary and audits
  • Documents monthly statistics (QA)
  • Assists staff members with patient care duties
  • Interacts with patient, family, staff and physicians in professional manner at all times
  • Ensures staff complete job assignments as documented in policy/procedure
  • Ensures that documentation on all charts is complete and accurate
  • Ensures that the unit free from hazards and enforced all safety procedures.
  • Manages and coordinates all unit activities including safety procedures, unit goals and department operations
  • Ensures that unit supplies and equipment are maintained appropriately


Qualifications:
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of 5+ years of RT experience in a NICU level II/III
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong Critical thinking skills
  • Excellen customer service skills
Benefits:
We offer a generous compensation package for Full-time and Part-time including: vacation, 401k, and Medical Insurance.
Sign-on Bonus $2,500.00 with 1 year commitment of full-time employment. (Not applicable to current HCA Employees)
