Respiratory Care Practitioner Transport Department: Transport Schedule: Full-Time w/ Call Shift: Days/Eves/ Nights/Rotating/Weekends/Call Hours: varies Job Details: Under the general direction of the transport RN, provides a variety of specialized and routine clinical therapies to the neonatal and pediatric population, utilizing state of the art equipment. The team responds to interfacility transport requests utilizing mobile intensive care units and rotor and fixed wing aircraft. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to department management of both Respiratory Care and Transport Team. Experience, Education and Training Minimum:Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current license as aRespiratory Care Practitioner in theCommonwealthofVirginia with a minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric and/or neonatal intensive care unit or previous transport experience. Must have interpersonal skills to communicate detailed clinical observations and evaluations with referring facilities and other care givers during transport. Must have analytical skills necessary to assess patient/family needs during transport, prioritize care based on assessments and develop solutions to problems concerning patient's mental or physical well-being.
