Position: Registered VascularTechnologist (Registered or Training Position) Site: Toronto General Hospital Department: Non-Invasive Vascular Lab Reports to: Manager SalaryRange: $58,130 - $72,657 (mid-point: $72,657 suggested maximum hiring point) commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy Hours: 37.5 hours per week Status: Permanent full time Theresponsibilitiesof a Vascular Technologistincludethe following:performing vascular ultrasound diagnostic tests;operating, troubleshooting and ensuringthatequipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner; preparing written and electronic reports required to document all test results; performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision patient centered care; participating in education research, safety and quality improvements programs/activities;understanding and observingHospital and departmental policies and procedures; adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements;maintaining patient confidentiality; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, orasrequested.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will either be a Registered Vascular Technologist or be prepared to receive on-the-job training in the performance of vascular laboratory studies. To be eligible for a training position the applicant must have a background in medical education (e.g. nursing, therapy, foreign medical degree or other related) and/or a technical background (e.g. general ultrasound, completion of a recognized Technologist program with a minimum of two (2) years related technical experience). Excellent spoken and written English language skills are required. Good computer skills are required. The successful applicant must be able to work effectively as a team member.
