General Job Description:
Registered Nurses provide professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards of practice and departmental policies and procedures in order to maximize the patient’s potential for health and well-being. Primary duties to include:
Coordinates total nursing care for assigned patients. Assesses and periodically reassesses patient conditions including physical, psychosocial, developmental and age- specific factors for adolescents, adults and geriatrics and plans care according to identified and prioritized actual or potential problems.
Uses the nursing process to direct and provide all levels of patient care.
Participates in patient and family teaching.
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications for Registered Nurse positions at DCH facilities:
Current Alabama license as a Registered Nurse and in good standing with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
BCLS required.
PALS and ACLS preferred.
Excellent patient care and communication skills.
Experience required in hospital setting.
