Registered Nurse, Deerbrook Foundation Project Full-time, Days Baylor Health Care System Dallas, TX The Deerbrook Charitable Trust of Chevy Chase, MD, a private trust dedicated to advancing care for the elderly, has pledged more than $12.4 million to Baylor Health Care System over the next three years. The funds will support a program designed by a Baylor team to improve care of the elderly population in hospitals, nursing homes, patients’ homes and through the education of future caregivers.“Deerbrook challenged us to consider how health care could be delivered more effectively to the elderly population” said Rosemary Luquire, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN, NEA-BC, senior vice president and chief nursing officer for Baylor Health Care System. Dr. Luquire worked with Cynthia Krause, Vice President at the Baylor Health Care System Foundation, to forge a collaborative team, including Deerbrook representatives, Baylor clinical leaders and Foundation employees, to develop the program. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating patient care. Accountable that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations. Supervises care delivered by patient care team; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients and staff; collaborates with other disciplines; provides direct patient care for specific patient age groups. The Deerbrook Foundation Project is seeking a BSN/Outpatient Coordinator to introduce geriatric patients to selected nursing homes in Irving and Garland.
