| REGISTERED DIETICIAN OUR VISION Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre will offer community-focused health promotion, illness prevention and primary health care services, encouraging personal responsibility for one's own health and that of the community. The Centre has developed a vision for a healthier community where all people have access to quality care and services delivered with respect. The Centre will support its priority populations at all ages and stages of the life cycle with an emphasis on those who are high risk and/or are experiencing barriers to accessing services. Nature and Scope : The Registered Dietician provides dietetic and nutritional care functions employing a holistic approach to health promotion, illness prevention and CDPM; participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of primary health care service for individuals, families and the community. Key Areas of Responsibility: - Clinical services - performs dietetic assessments, develops nutritional plans, conducts health education/counselling based on College of Dieticians of Ontario standards of practice - Community Programming & Health Promotion - performs community nutrition needs assessments and identifies barriers to healthy eating. Facilitates and supports community initiatives, individual and group programming related to food security. This position will engage in activities on & off site - Quality Improvement - participates in quality assurance practices consistent with evidence based best practice guidelines - Teamwork - works collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team - Mentoring - supports the Centre's student and volunteer placement programs Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in foods and nutrition from a recognized university - Dieticians of Canada accredited Dietetic internship or equivalent approved experience or graduate degree in community nutrition - Registration in good standing with College of Dieticians of Ontario - Three to five years clinical counselling and community nutrition experience, preferably in a primary health care setting - Comprehensive knowledge regarding nutritional principles, dietary strategies and professional practices - Experience in program development, implementation and evaluation an asset - Experience with electronic health records an asset Bi-lingual French/English a definite asset.
