Radiologic Technologist Req #: B12093 Department: Radiology Schedule: Part Time Shift: Day Shift Hours: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Job Details: Posted: January 25, 2012 Position: Part-Time, Day Shift, 6 hours Under the direction of the Diagnostic Radiology Supervisor and within established hospital and department policies and procedures, performs radiographic procedures using stationary, portable and specialized equipment at a technical and professional level that does not require constant supervision and is of acceptable quality. Duties include but are not limited to: Rotates through all radiologic rooms, sets up necessary equipment for examinations. Keeps knowledgeable and up-to-date with changes in contrast material, films and other supplies used. Assists Radiologists during examinations as well as during emergency procedures; performs specialized examinations as deemed necessary. Provides training and ensures appropriate use of Radiology Information System. Pre-accesses patient condition determining employee ability to perform a quality radiographic examination, without physically compromising the patient or employee; such as lifting, sliding, or moving patient in anyway and keeping within the employee's limitations as prescribed by the physician. Obtains assistance if needed before an examination begins. REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree required. For those candidates who meet requirements of licensing and registration agencies and have been grandfathered by those agencies, Associate's degree requirement waived, but have high school diploma or equivalent required. Current Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and registry eligible required; ARRT registration must be completed within six (6) months of hire. Continuing education credits must meet State and Registry Licensing requirements. Current certification in C.P.R experience required; however, technologist must be trained and capable of handling patients completely from invitro through adult.
