QA/QI & Operations Manager Category: Management Facility: Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland Department: Clinical Laboratory Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Shift Hours: Weekend on-call required Job Details: Bachelor of Science Clinical Lab Scientist License 5 years of experience required Job Summary: The QA/QI & Operations Manager coordinates, monitors, and facilitates all quality assurance and quality improvement activities within the clinical laboratory to ensure superior patient care. In addition, the QA/QI & Operations Manager oversees operational and regulatory compliance and addresses all matters related to compliance with federal, state, JCAHO, CAP, and other accrediting agencies. Position Requirements:Education: B.S. in medical technology or science. Master''s degree preferred, but not required. California Department of Health, CLS License. MT(ASCP) certification preferred Minimum 5-10 years of experience required in the similar supervisory or managerial position. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required to accomplish task through delegation of work to people. Must be highly motivated and organized to achieve the goals and objectives of the lab. Must demonstrate skills in managing multiple activities or functions simultaneously, ability to work independently, handle a high degree of responsibility and prioritizing multiple, conflicting assignments. Familiarity and skill with computer software applications including LIS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and the Internet. Physical Requirements:Sit: Up to 6 hours/day Stand/Walk: Up to 6 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hours Lift/Push/pull: 25 lbs. over 25lbs. with assistance or equipment. This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
