PROPOSAL WRITER for BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - GROWING HUMAN SERVICES ORGANIZATION THE OPPORTUNITY As The MENTOR Network continues to grow and evolve, we are excited to add a new position to our Proposal Development Services Group in the form of a Proposal Writer. This function supports a broad range of Human Services initiatives across the county, from small, strategic bids to large, multi-million dollar opportunities. You will be part of a small but collegial Business Development/Proposal Writing team that works collaboratively, but also encourages independence and autonomy. OUR ORGANIZATION Founded in 1980, The MENTOR Network is a national network of local human services providers offering an array of high quality, community-based services to youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges, as well as their families, and adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses.
Headquartered in the Seaport District of Boston, we are located in 35 states with approximately 24,000 employees serving more than 23,000 consumers and clients. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Support business development efforts of multi-state human services organization
• Research public funding opportunities and disseminate information to Operations
• Conduct market research
• Evaluate Requests for Proposal for quality of fit with organizational priorities
• Consult with Subject Matter Experts to write both solicited and unsolicited proposals
• Develop boilerplate ""Best Language"" for Department use
• Undertake Licensing Applications (Medicaid, Child Placing Agency)
• Research and write reports as assigned
• Develop PowerPoint presentations as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Assist Director of Program Development in managing day-to-day Departmental affairs
QUALIFICATIONS: • A Bachelor's degree is required. A Masters is desirable, but not essential.
• The ideal scope of experience is 2-3 years of successful proposal development for government purchasers in non-profit or for- profit settings.
• The ideal industry exposure and experience is Human Services or Health Care, but we would still like to hear from you if you are a strong fit and come from another industry.

• Outstanding written and oral communication are critical.
