More information about this job: Organization Overview: The Domestic Health Division has helped shaped healthcare policies that have benefited millions of Americans, while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of many government programs. Federal government agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and National Institutes of Health call on us to help launch and evaluate their key programs. We also help change behaviors affecting health by directing communication programs that address substance abuse and mental health services.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD with at least 10 years of experience, MA with 15+ years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Responsibilities: * Oversee and manage AHRQ and ONC business development activities around HIT, by obtaining additional work from existing clients or by identifying new markets and sales opportunities. Direct capture and proposal efforts in accordance with the Division’s business development plan. * Serve as Capture Manager for key bid opportunities, collecting long-term market intelligence, identifying strengths and weaknesses of competitors, and preparing and implementing capture plans. * Hold regular client account meetings related to AHRQ and ONC opportunities to discuss bids being tracked, make proposal recommendations to Health Division management, and assign proposal leaders. * Lead and manage complex and large HIT projects with primary responsibility for contract management, implementation, deliverables and overall client relations. * Maintain and further develop HIT research competencies necessary for performing key research projects within HHS agencies. Assist with hiring qualified staff to meet project/practice area needs, consistent with the market strategy and Health Division Plan. Provide professional development/mentoring for all levels of staff. * Maintain an industry presence as a subject-matter expert by publishing regularly in peer-reviewed journals and/or by presenting at annual conferences and meetings.
Skills Prerequisites: Focus of graduate work and experience should be health information technology research and policy, with preference given to persons with background in medical informatics, clinical workflow redesign driven by EHRs, healthcare standards development and implementation, taxonomy and ontology development, enterprise architecture for public sector health systems. Position also requires significant experience in business development, client relationship management, supervisory experience, and proven track record of project leadership. Ideal candidate will have experience working for other contract research firms in senior executive positions.
