Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the clinical director. The position also provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. The Polysomnographic Technologist acts as a resource person to all sleep center staff to assure continuity of quality patient care in accordance with the Sleep Center's objectives, policies, and procedures. Administers an advanced level of practice in sleep medicine, and has an advanced understanding of Neurodiagnostics.
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography. OR Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less that one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or national accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
One to three years of experience in polysomnography, and certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR also required.
