PICU Database Coordinator & RN Critical Care
The Pediatric ICU is a 23-bed unit providing care for patients birth through their 17thyear with acute and life threatening conditions, and chronic or disabling conditions. This unit is equipped and staffed to provide monitoring and clinical support for children at both intensive and intermediate levels of acuity. The qualified candidate will fill .8fte (64 hours during a two-week pay period) as a PICU Database Coordinator and .2fte (16 hours during a two-week pay period) as an RN Critical Care (salary min/max $31.57 - 45.79/hr) in the PICU and must meet requirements for both positions as identified in the Job Qualifications section of the posting. JOB SUMMARY - PICU Database Coordinator:
Coordination, management and maintenance of pediatric databases. Includes collection of all data points on pediatric patients, development of data reports specific to LHS pediatric patients. Participates in Quality Council meetings and projects. JOB SUMMARY - RN Critical Care: Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(OAR. 851-45-000) Nurse Practice Act (10/97)}. The Critical Care RN assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors degree in a related field required.
Experience:Three years recent nursing experience in a hospital setting required, 1 year PICU experience strongly preferred. Data management/statistical experience or the equivalent required. Experienced user of software packages including spreadsheets, word processing, databases and statistical analysis software.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed registered nurse in applicable state. PALS certification required for all staff, within one year of hire. TEAM/TNCC required for all staff, within one year of hire.
Skills:Demonstrated ability to do systematic, thorough problem solving and have the ability to initiate problem resolution. Ability to work independently anddemonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
