Day Shift with rotating weekends
SUMMARY:
This person will do Outpatient and Inpatient
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The staff physical therapist is directly responsible to the director and/or his designee and has the responsibility for overall direction, supervision, instruction and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, volunteers and students in their areas of the physical therapy department/facility. In accordance with physicians orders, the Physical Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out physical therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Plans and uses therapies involving physical exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity.
2. Utilizes various mechanical and electrical equipment and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
3. Evaluates, records and reports on patient's response to treatment and progress toward identified goals.
4. Integrates physical therapy treatments with other aspects of patient care.
5. Assists patients reach their maximal reasonably levels of function and to cope with their limitations.
6. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
7. Instructs and educates patients and families.
8. Participates in patient discharge planning.
9. Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
10. Orients and mentors new staff members.
11. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
12. Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".

Qualifications
EDUCATION - Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy.
EXPERIENCE - 1 year experience as a Physical therapist in a hospital environment preferred, but will take new grad.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE - State licensure as a Physical Therapist. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop and perform assigned duties under semi-stressful situations. Visual acuity is required in order to ensure that work is being done correctly. Work is moderately heavy with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Work also involves considerable walking, standing, pushing and pulling of equipment and frequent lifting of patients.
**PT will do both inpatient and outpatient. It is mostly inpatient, but some outpatient visits will fall to this person, as well.
