Job Description
A Physical Therapist coordinates with other health care professionals working towards Intermountain Healthcare’s healing commitment to produce the best possible outcomes for patients. A Physical Therapist is an essential part of the healing team that is engaged in the process of evaluating and treating patients. They design, implement and continuously modify and adapt Physical Therapy programs for each patient according to assessments and goals desired. They educate patients and families regarding proper rehab methods and techniques. They are able to have a positive impact and make a difference to those they serve.
Therapists are expected to continually focus on learning and development of patient care skills. Therapist will continue to be educated and also to be educators. Presenting to staff and in community conferences is expected. Marketing and relationship building with patients, physicians, payers and community is a part of the role of all therapists. Leadership in various forms is available and expected of all therapists.
Entry Rate: Based on experience
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Shift Details: Full-time clinical schedule, which alternates mornings and evenings. This individual would be asked to schedule 3 evenings and 2 mornings based on the need of the department.
Additional Details: New therapists are mentored with an established therapists for the amount of time deemed necessary for the new therapist to 1) reach a adequate level of departmental function 2) understand clearly patient care philosophies of both the department and referring physicians. Therapist is expected to treat a outpatient orthopedic patient population with a strong emphasis of knees and shoulders.
Minimum Requirements
- Physical Therapist license required or license eligible
- This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
- Must demonstrate the ability to assess patient information and make appropriate recommendations
- Requires communication with coworkers, patients, and others in an effective, pleasant manner
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to transfer and position patients independently and safely
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous outpatient experience
- Athletic Trainer Certification in Utah preferred or eligible for certification
