Performs a variety of clerical and receptionist duties for the Laboratory Department. Performs venipunctures on neonate, infant, child, teen, adult and geriatric. REQUIRED: High school graduate. Proficient secretarial skills, basic knowledge of medical and anatomical terminology. Proficient use of basic office machines. PREFERRED: Completion of phlebotomy training program (with certification by a national phlebotomy registry) or formal vocational training as a Medical Secretary. EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of previous clerical experience requiring public contact. Previous phlebotomy experience and use of medical terminology desired. Given orientation and on-the-job training incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within 3 months. Additional Information
Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required. Rotating Shifts may be required.
